Finlandia Foundation - Baltimore Area Chapter Finlandia Foundation Baltimore Area Chapter aims to promote Finnish culture and heritage in the greater Baltimore area. We are a non-profit organization without political affiliations, open to all Finns and people with ties to Finland. Members enjoy a diverse and a delicious offering of events and cultural activities. Our goal is to offer a variety of events so that everyone finds something to enjoy.
Fun events throughout the year have included:
- Our largest event is the Pikkujoulu (Little Christmas Party) , which ushers in the holiday season in early December with traditional Finnish Christmas foods, singing of carols and a visit by Joulupukki.
- Juhannus (Midsummer) is a time when many of our members travel to Finland, but a summer get-together is often held later in the summer in the form of a beach party or a crab feast.
- Ad-hoc events such as a night at the symphony or a movie night round out our annual get-togethers.
In addition to our own functions, our members receive an invitations events at the Embassy of Finland as well as to other Finnish and Scandinavian functions in the greater Baltimore-Washington DC area.
